    hey i have the ati tv wonder ve capture card and i was wondering it its possible to capture into mpg rather than the default avi. when i capture, it seems the only choice i have to save is a special ati compressor or something that came with it. so....i heard other people capture into mpg and i just wanna know how, it its possible for me

    I personally think you'll be disappointed with capturing directly to mpeg-1 vcd format, better off sticking to mpeg-2 or .avi caps. I speak from personal experience. mpeg-1 caps are almost unwatchable on tv.

    Try using one of Intervideo's windvr programs (latest version is 2.0 i believe). For real time capturing to mpeg1 the quality is not bad at all. I have captured plenty of times to vcd and they are defineately watchable on tv. Better than any other real time mpeg1 capture progs ive used. It does a pretty good job at mpeg2 also.
