  1. How can I get Gator spyware off my system? When clicking uninstall it says to go through add/remove programs, but the file "GAIN" it states to remove is not listed in XP under add/remove.
I use both Mac and PC. Mac: G4 Power Book 1GHz w/1GHz ram PC:1GHz w768 both have large SCSI/Fire Wire HD

As Milton Friedman wrote, "There's No Such Thing as a Free Lunch"!
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

I used Ad-Aware, but after Ad-Aware cleans registry and some files you still need to delete rest of the files manualy. Result ? I was not able to use DixX anymore because it was complaining that "spyware" was missing and since its "free" that is your "price".

Well, some of us would never install spyware in the first place (they DID tell you it would be installed). Since there is another free version with no spyware you have two choices: the lite free version or pay $30 for the full version. If you're only decoding there's no reason to bother with the spyware version or the pay version (as the pro features are only used for encoding, and I don't know if they're really that important).

You might try to kill it in the start ups menu.
