  1. i'm trying to make a backup of my Mr. Deeds DVD, and I'm using DVD Decryptor and IFOEdit, as the movie itself is only around 4 gigs...but i was wondering if it was possible to keep certain special features, like deleted scenes...and have it be done easily? without creating new menus or authoring?

    thanks in advance.

I have been able to do it
there is a guide on here
I use DVD2SVCD to rip the movie and reencode if necessary
then i use chapter xtractor to extract the chapters
then using DVD Maestro I load all that up
    then update with ifo update
this keeps the original DVD structure with the newly reencoded VOB's

it works like a charm everytime, however, not done easily, but once learned it takes no longer than regular backup

and without DVD Maestro not possible to do
and as that program is now owned by Apple, good luck

I didn't want to use 2 DVD's though, and as far as a loss in quality, It is not visible on a Television screen

I have backed up several movies this way

American Beauty for instance was about 8 gigs and I reduced it to exactly 4.36 gigs

I put in the original American Beauty, and then my Backed up copy and no one can tell the difference.

I brought my friend over and asked him if he knew which one was which and he couldnt he had no idea that I had reduced the file size

anyway, i'm not saying which method is right, maybe you like to have 2 DVD's and change the discs, I don't (personal preference)

  7. What the hell is the point have having a dvd burner and not re-creating the quality sources that it is? baffles the mind, I understand some people are cheap but ya poped the green for a burner why not splurge that extra dollar. Guess not to many peeps are running HDTV yet so who care huh, anyways here here is the link made easy so no one get lost browsing this website, that would be tragic but to help out to
donpedro you can either reincode/ re-author the dvd-9 which is in the listing under author or you can split using ifoedit and use the guide dvd-9 to 2 dvd+-R/RW. If you pick your self up some doublesided dvdr you cant bitch about the 2 discs, Ive been picking up the Primedisc 9.4 double sided and they work great, just write the movie name in the inner circle
    Bling bling!!
PM me if you have problems burning after you follow the guide i will help ya out. the full process when you have it down will only take 2hr with 2x burning or quicker with 2.4x+

  8. Wetmonkey, thanks for link. I will look into it probably later tonight.

And... it wasn't me that didn't want to use 2 DVD's. My goal is to have DVD (2) that looks like original. Original menu and extras. Let's see if I can make it happen

  10. you work for 321 or something? why promote a company that screws the little guy and takes credit for his work. seems like everyone would rather have everything done for them instead of taking the time to learn a little something. How easy does this Sh*t have to be for you peeps.

All i have to say is 10 monkeys go into a room and only 9 come out

    dumb da dumb dumb duuuumb

  11. Wetmonkey, it worked. THANK YOU !!!

I had little bit difficulty with "extras" (since they are accessed from different parts of main movie, some kind of links in movie) but it worked. This is realy great since I was affraid that I would have to re-encode for this.

  13. wetmonkey is way off, 1st you grip about 321 getting the little guy, crap you are making a copy of a DVD that I am sure you did not pay the $15-20 bucks for, so you are screwing the production company, crap DVDxCOPY is so simple and fast, so who or what made it, or how they did it, if you cared really about stealling then you better change from a PC over to an Apple where it all was stollen from originally and I don't even like Apple by the way, I did not buy a burner to spend 3-5 hours re-encoding a 90 to 120 minute program, if thats the case I can get just as good or better recording using my E20 set top DVD recorder. If you are really concern about giving $99 to 321 then just use DVD2DVDR its freeware and pretty fast and easy for nonencoding and re-encoding DVD's.

  14. thx your radio must be tooo loud because you must not be able to understand the words that are written on the above post, if you had half a brain you would see as noted that i said DO NOT spend the time Re-encoding, 2nd 321 has ripped of smart ripper namely and ifoedit to create there all in wonder. they are screwing the people who are actually making things happen the real developers. If you lay off the hash pipe kid and read the posts donpedro used all the lustrious "freeware" progies in the guides that i linked to to create the exact same product that you support dvdxcopy without paying those DMF's. Before you run your mouth you need to open you eye and READ!!! You look like an mongul, first of you completly supported my statement of DO NOT RE-ENCODE its is above in my post, and otherwise missed my statements of a superior product without dvdxcopy by using freeware in the guides. how do you like there wonderful splash screen when splitting woooow. Support the people who develope the progies and not ripp them off in the case of 321 studios dvdcopy program prior to dvdxcopy, all youll need dvddecrypter/smartripper, ifoedit and the burn software of choice. well half a brain would help too, my monkey can do this without using dvdxcopy chump lol
