  1. My Pb was still not solved, namely, the fact that my engraved SVCD have 2 problêmes:
    1. The time does not correspond: CD which makes 53:47, the reader of show displays 74:25. On the other hand, the time which ravels corresponds.
    2. The advance and the fast return do not function. The fast advance makes return at the beginning of CD

One advised me to engrave with other thing that Nero, I tested CDRWin and VCDImager 0.7.7 with the GUI following:
    TSVC 0.6b1/2/3
    VCDImager Easy 0.9.6
    VCDImager GUI 0.6
The log displays me these errors:
++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'next_I_offset ': [00:00.1c]
++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:05.0d]
++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'previous_I_offset': [00:00.1c]
++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:05.1a]
++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'next_I_offset ': [00:00.2a]
++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'previous_I_offset': [00:00.2a]
++ WARN: mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'backward_I_offset': [00:05.0d]
WARN: mpeg user scan data: from now on, scan information data errors will not
be reported anymore---consider enabling the 'update scan offsets' option, if it
    is not enabled already!

With VCDImager GUI 0.6, the 2 problems are solved. But the function "goto" does not function. As much to say that is not interesting for me
As advised to me Aldai, I demuxed the file generated by TMPGEnc and I remuxed with bbMPEG. The file created is slightly more significant 758314Kb against 752775Kb.
When I use VCDImager I do not have any more the preceding errors in the log. Unfortunately, my problems remains.

    Help and consultings are welcome.

P.S.: my DVD reader is BlueSky II DVD Pro from Carrefour

I used the above mentioned program (windows interface), and successfully converted a 4 minute svcd video captured with a dazzle dvcII card as SVCD to a bin, and burned it with Adaptec EZCD4, and it plays fine, fast forward and rewind work fine.

Problem is, when I try to do an entire show (46 minute show), the program just says its reading source and never goes to writing the bin. I left it running for over 16 hours. Is there a limit to the size of the input file, or is it just that incredibly slow?

Is there any other way to add the missing data, so FF/RW will work on my Apex 500W?

  3. I use TSVC all the time and it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to generate the bin/cue files. I've never timed it but when I have a 790MB MPEG2 file it can't be more than 5-6min (Tbird 1.2Ghz).

It's odd that it works with short clips but not with long ones, I'd try again with a different MPEG (if you've got one) and see what happens.

Nope, tried another one. It reads steady from the source file for about 5 minutes, then just stops accessing the drive, and the program sits there saying Scanning MPEG File. Wait and flashing a 1/2 3/4 symbol forever, but doesnt do anything else.
Too bad, since the thing actually worked on short clips. Guess Ill need to break the large ones up into tracks. Ill try running the long clip through tmpenc and see if the program works then. Either that or I was just destined to no use fast forward or rewind on SVCD discs.

  5. Hi all, over the past few days I've been testing TSCV in it's various releases with VCDImager. The latest TSCV v0.72 rel. 1 works very well with VCDImager 0.7.10 beta4. In fact I authored a 41min. SVCD with an intro mpeg and menu which allows me to use the numeric keypad to access the chapters from the menu and from within the video itself. This program is wonderful and much less time consuming than I-Author. Keep on trying and check out the Ttool website.

I get those BCD errors when I use a TMPGEnc file as opposed to taking that file and demuxing and remuxing in bbMPEG. However, I enable "update scan offsets" in VCDImager so it still gives those errors but there is not a problem with making chapters. Even if I don't enable "update scan offsets" I can use vcddebug and it reports that the chapters and scan offsets are still there. I don't know why the bbmpeg file is larger than the tmpgenc file. I always thought it was the scan offsets, but they are in the tmpgenc file according to vcdimager.
