I am capturing home videos with an ATI All-in-Wonder using Video Studio 6 to capture and edit. I am capturing with the HUFYUV codec and 6.5 minutes of video takes 7.5 GB of hard drive. Does this seem excessive or is it about right for this codec? Seems to me when I captured with this codec with MMC it was less than 1 GB a minute. (When I check the properties of the captured video it says the compression is HUFYUV). For some reason I can no longer capture through MMC with this codec without dropping 10% of the frames, capturing in Video Studio I drop no frames?

It depends on what resolution and other details you are capturing at? I can capture about 90 minutes 352x480 huffyuv best/best and it will take around 30GB. If capturing to 720x480 it takes up a lot more space.
Also keep in mind what is the audio compression set to? If you don't compress the audio that will eat up a lot of space too.
