I have a Panasonic stand-alone DMR E-30 on which I have burned several DVD-Rs from old home videos. These DVD-Rs play fine on another stand alone DVD player, but they do not play at all on my Compaq Computer's DVD drive - a Compaq DVD-115 which I understand is actually a Pioneer DVD-115 OEM drive. The computer does not seem to recognize the dvd-r at all and gives me a message to the effect that "no media was found," or "insert a dvd disc." I have tried various DVD-R media from cheap generic to Memorex to Maxell. All play on the stand alones and none play on the Pioneer DVD-115 drive. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a possibility I need a firmware update? I would prefer not to do this unless it seems to be the only solution. And by the way, pre-recorded DVDs play fine on the computer, so the problem seems to be between dvd-r media and the computer's dvd drive. Thanks for any help.
