    Ive ripped Vob's from a DVD and used DVD2AVI to frameserve and tmpenc to rencode to DVD at a bitrate of around 3800. the resulting file was around 4GB. once burnt to a DVD what is the best program to use for playback, will PowerDVD or WinDVD suffice?

    Are you just burning the mpeg2 file on the dvd disc? or are you authoring this as a dvd to play in a dvd player also? powerdvd or windvd will play either way just fine.
