  1. I have created multiple home movies using iMovie and created VCDs for relatives to play on their DVD players.
However, would like to be able to use the same videos and create a DVD at a later date when I get a DVD burner.
From my readings, the video formats are not compatible and I would have to re-encode the videos. This sounds like it would be lower quality than if I encoded directly to the correct format.
Also, I read that if you encode your movies as CVD, the format is compatible with DVD and you would be able to use them again at a later date to create DVDs without re-encoding. Assuming I use 48000 kHz audio.
Therefore, I would like to know if a procedure exists to follow for exporting movies from iMovie and create a CVD on Mac OSX.
Since these are short home movies, I am looking for higher quality instead of smallest size.
    Thanks for any support,

I am not a "Mac" person, but if you have some procedures and/or software to create SVCDs, then all you need to do is change the resolution from SVCD (480 x 480) to CVD (352 x 480.) That is the only significant difference.
