The best video results are from SCART or RGB, then from S-Video and least Composite Video. If the DVD player has more than one choice of outputs, it really doesn't matter to the quality of the video output.Normally all outs are decoupled and don't affect each other.
BTW: with SCARt you can have all the different outputs too.Normally the SCART output in SW selectable from RGB/YbCr/S-Video and composite (at least in EU) -
no it doesn't mean the quality of a dvd player with one output is less than a player with double output! it has nothing to do with it... it's only so u can attach another 'whatever' to it.. i'd say it's handy but not necesarry

Your TV need to have component video connection. In US, this is on three RCA connector.
Component Video goes striaght to the video section of your TV, and thus produce the crisppest color, and the best level of black that your TV can produce.
The high end video format - THX - is very critical of the color - Black. -
With SCART, you'll have the stereo sound as well (these are the front stereo speakers, if your sound is dolby digital).SCART is AFAIK not common in US, but EU.As SCART provides RGB output directly to your TV RGB circuit, this gives the best video signal (comparable to component video - in EU component input to consumer TV sets are uncommon). As there is no multiplexing of the three signals, there is also no interference of these signals, so the borders look very sharp and crisp.
Since when is THX a video format?AFAIK THX is a certification and not any format of its own.
