  1. Hi folks!

True; programs like DVD2SVCD are extreemly helpfull like some other nice al-in-one packages. But, I always seem to be the one that will have at least ONE function which fails or one program not working as it should (subtitles, bad multiplexing etc.), so the product can't help me in some occasions.

So.... as a bit more then a complete newbie, but still lot to learn, I decided to make a semi-automatic webbased guide with the most flexible but hard to learn seperate steps to make a superb SVCD from a DVD .

To make this happen I "borrowed" a lot of info from several sites with forums and guides HOW TO.. etc. and put it in the right order, so you can get the whole job down with typing a few characters and mouseclicks.
Just folowing the steps and see the screenshots at the same time (all off-line of course).

    But, before I consider it worth looking for you guys, I need a to a few things wich are left;

    1. A GUI for toolame (if it excists!?) or a alternative for this one so one can just click on the desired WAV for converting.

    2. Some people, newbies and experts who like to test it and tell me what I could improve
Most wanted are HTML experts who can tell me or help me to get some functions more efficient.

Please mail me if you're intrested and willing to help.

Dunno if this helps but normally you use toolame as an external tool in TMPGE....as detailed here http://www.doom9.org/mpg/toolame.htm

    no probs,
been using DVD2SVCD...which is very good but......i would love to have more control and fiddle with the controls a bit more.....

    like :

Be able REALLY set the bit rate in CCE,
Be able to set the in and out points for each disk (so I can cut the credits and other crap out and not waste CDR space)
Play with the avisynth script BEFORE the ripping starts rather than wait for half the process to happen.

What would be really very neat would be an option for aspect conversion...eg 16:9 in 4:3 out for those people who hate letterboxing...which for me is good for kids flics tho for real movies letterboxing is ok....in the case of 2.3:1 (or whatever it is) have an intermediate step so there is only slight letterboxing rather than taking a really narrow band of screen on your 4:3 set..(I HATE that...need a bloody telescope to see the pic)

dvd2svd is a great automating tool.....it could be made better making making it optionally semi automatic

CCE definitly rocks over Tmpge for dvd ripping

  5. Well, the semi-automatic DVD to SVCD with all software included is almost finnished.
Tested, tested, and tested again. I think all steps work now. Probably online end this week.
A few screenshots and some textlines, and then it's done; ready for some REAL WORLD tests...

"Specs": You have FULL controll of any thinkable option to manipulate the end product like resizing, subtitles, soundtracks etc.
Beacuse I choosed to use virtualdub for frameserving, you can use any encoder you like; TMPGEnc, LSX or CCE.

Hope you SVCD newbies and freaks are going to like it!
    Rgrds, Co.
