  1. I've created a VCD that includes two menu screens. I made them using a screen grab (jpeg) with VCDEasy, adding text in PaintShop Pro, and then converting to a mpg still in VCDEasy. The problem is, most of the time the menu screens come up blank when played in my DVD player. The blank screens still interact with the remote keypad as if they were displaying the menus and eventually can be seen again if I skip forward or backward a few times.

I have heard that using VCDEasy to create the jpeg or mpg screens might be the problem. Anyone have any more insight or a solution?

Try the beta version of mpeg tools in the vcdeasy website. This fixed my problem. It is especially helpful if you got a pioneer dvd player.

  3. You will have to register (free) with VCDEasy website before you can access the beta page.

You are looking to download MJPEG Tools 1.6.0-rc2

It seems to solve the dodgy stills issue with a number of stand-alone players.
