I have this avi file that has DIVXMPG4 V3 video compression at 23 frames per second with mpeg layer 3 audio.. I can play the file fine in wmp and anything else i throw it in.. But when i converted it to svcd it doesn't have any video just audio.. I raised the directshow multimedia file view filter in advanced in tmpgenc but still doesn't work.. I've also tried using every template tmpgenc has and still no avail.. I normally just load teh avi into tmpgenc and use the lame audio encoder to create temporal wave file and it comes out fine.. I tried to recompress to divx 5.02 in vdub as well and then wmp couldn't even play it.. Thanks for any info.. The movie is Spirit Stallion of the cimmeron 576 x 432.. The only other thing i noticed was that it has an ID Tag.. not sure what that does or is but most my movies don't contain that when you go to properties on the file.. anyways.. thanks for takin time to help![]()

Ok.. I'll just answer my own question.. again..:P.. Through much trial and error with trying different stuff i finally went back to good ol TMPGENC cause the problem lies within that program since the movie plays fine in everything else.. You've probably seen posted a million times to go to Environmental settings then VFAPI Plug-in then move UP the Directshow Multimedia File Reader to a higher priority.. say 1 or 2.. Well.. i had done that a few times.. heck i moved it to 4 just to try it.. Nuthin.. Never would i have thought to go down but just out of sheer luck i tried -1 and what do you know.. IT WORKED! I now realize how tempermental this setting is as the next movie i go to convert..it has the same problem.. But this one is not readin the audio in the file. So.. I go back to up it to 0. then 1.. then finally i get to 2 and WALLAH!.. So screwing with this setting could solve a lot of problems for people even if you tried what was normally recommended. .I hope my agony of 6 hours trying to fix this issue pays off quickly for someone else cuz it was to easy for such a big problem.. A good way to see if it is working is to just do a quick 30 second sample and make sure you have under Preview Option at least = DIsplay with thinning or you can use show all frames.. just so you can see if the video is playing alright.. Preview works as well but you need to make sure you have both audio and video so a 30 second segment will give you exactly what your getting so you know for sure.. ANyways.. sorry for rambling.. maybe i'm the only one with this problem and i'm talking to myself.. at least i can call on me for tech support :P.. GOod luck peeps..
