Dear friends,
I am new here, and I am afraid I really need help, I am too confused.
As everybody, I intend to make real-time TV broadcasts recordings to the Hard Disk, for further burning onto blank DVD's, NTSC and PAL formats. But....
1) I live in Brazil, here we have the PAL-M color system on TV broadcast, so I need a card that recognizes it. I have heard that the ASUS cards can deal with this color system, can anyone confirm it ?
2) As far as I could understand, what the VCDhelp site states as "MPEG 2" card is one that makes the compression in real time, right ? So, as all ASUS cards aren't listed as "MPEG 2", but only as "Video in" cards, I guess it actually does sample in MPEG 2 format, but uncompressed, and so I need a 80 GB HD for further encoding process, AM I RIGHT ?
3) Does the card have to go up 10 Mbps ?? What is it exactly ? The ASUS web site says that their latest card, v9280s, goes up to 2.1 GB/s, what is it exactly ?
4) Do I need a PCI or an AGP card ? What is the best for video capture in full NTSC and PAL standards video capture ?
Well, at the end, I am confused : what card should I get for video capture in full DVD MPEG 2 resolution ?
DOES THE ASUS V9280S MAKE IT ???
Thanks, I am too confused. Please, e-mail me at :

Thanks so much,
Andre
