I've gotten the ripping, re-encoding (if necessary), authoring and burning of my DVDs down pretty good using DeCrypter/SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, CCE 2.5, DVD Maestro & Gear Pro.
What I'd like to do, and what I'm stumpted at is adding a short THX or DTS intro (with audio of course) to my backed-up DVDs that would play first when loaded and then move into the movie.
Your advice and comments are appreciated.

I do exactly the same! There is a link somewhere on this website to loads of THX, DD and DTS trailers, in vob format. I hope you have broadband!
Once you have them, you can play them in power dvd using the file mode. Select the one you want. Make sure it is the same TV system (PAL or NTSC) as the one your movie is.
I then use VOBEDIT to demux the video and audio. Import these into Maestro.
Open up your ripped movie maestro project, and add a new movie to it. Drag over the m2v and ac3 (or DTS) file from your trailer as you would your main movie.
Now set the first play (or from a menu or whatever) as the trailer. Now, right click on the trailer movie and you should see an option saying END ACTION. This is what happens when the trailer has finished. Just follow it through and select the begining of your main movie.
Compile it up and it should work!
