Newbie needs help with Nero

I just downladed the latest version of Nero Dvd copier.
I am trying to copy A DVD movie that I own.
The 1st task went ok..."Creating the image for Burning"
Then it asks that I insert medium for copying....So I put the DVD-R in
and nothing happens....what do I need to do?

Again, I am totally new to this...this is my 1st attempt

Upon further review.....

I was in the Nero Tools section trying to read a blank DVd+R...and
it would not read so I put a brand new one in and it still wouldnt read.

Am I using the wrong type discs?
Do I need to use a DVD+RW?

Please help.

are you trying to do a disc-to-disc copy of a production DVD with nero?

it sounds like the error you get when you try to do that, you need to rip the DVDs contents with Smartripper or DVD Decryptor (rip all files, I assume this is a DVD-5) and then burn a DVD Video w/ nero.

Otherwise, I don't recognize the error. I had that happen once when trying to dub a GameShark, too.

I have a dvd original of Suse and cant copy. Do I need to rip it as well?

yes you do have to rip it.... a lot of production dvd are encrypted and have macrovision on it..
