  1. whats the best settings for video and audio bitrate that I could use so that I could burn a 83min movie onto a 80min cdr as vcd?

  2. also, do you change the bitrate when you encode the movie, because when I try to incode it using TMPGEnc plus, the bitrate selectors are blacked out.

  3. If you want to make a VCD the bitrates are set at 1150kbps for video and 224 kbps for audio. They cant be changed.

You can however make an XVCD (non standard VCD) that will fit by lowering the bitrate. To do this you need to load the unlock template in the extras directory. You can then make changes to the settings. If making an XVCD under settings -> system, change the stream type to mpeg1 video cd(non standard).

To determine what bitrate to use so that the movie will fit use a bitrate calculator .

Another option is to get some 90/99 minute CDR's and overburn, the advantage of using this method is there will be no quality loss.

  4. So if I make video quality abit higher than VCD quality say 320kbit/s and sound quality a bit lower, will I still be able to play it on a DVD player that supports XVCD?
