Hi,
I've been editing video and authoring discs for a couple of years now. I have a pretty good setup, but I do feel that my video card is the bottleneck( It's a 32MB TNT card, plain vanilla). After reading posts here for 6 months, I realized that there's more to a video card than just on-board memory size, when it comes to DV Editing
I would like to get a new one and want your recomendations. Here is a list of what I need, in order of priority.
1.) Has to cost under $200
2. ) At least 64MB memory and a good 3D Architecture (I also play a lot of graphic heavy games.)
3.) Works well with Adobe Premiere. Meaning - I use Premiere 6.5 with real-time previews. The RT preview is software based, and I'd like a card that would assist this feature, so that the previews (of transitions, like Hollywood FX) are not so choppy.
4.) Capturing is not a priority. My separate firewire card works just fine, although it would be a bonus if my new card had AV2DV conversion input.
I was looking at some of the ATI Radeon cards, but I'm confused by all the models they have, some lower number models costing more then the higher numbered ones.
Help, anyone?
Thanks in advance,
VaBank
