  1. I am using Nero Vision along with a new Memorex DVD Burner and received error message. I am burning an .avi file to DVD and after 8 hrs I received a message "Nerovision has caused an error in Neroapi.dll" I am using the included Memorex DVD R/w disc included in package.

What can be the problem? Also why does it take 5-10 hrs to burn an .avi file to DVD in NeroVision? I switched from a Pioneer DVR-104 to a Memorex DVD burner supposedly because I thought the Memorex burned at 2.4x vs 1x on the Pioneer for R/W disc.

    I would appreciate any help!

    Thanks

  2. 2 things i found when using nero vision express is
1 it never works burning the dvd straight after encoding and what i had to do was burn to hard drive then burn the files it creates to dvd with nero express.
2 it takes so long to encode because of the codec conversion method they use.

now i cant seem to understand your problem with avi so i take it you actually want an avi format to be put on your dvd and not converted to vob's ..if that is the case then you just burn as data not movie.

hope it helps as im still working with the program myself and have had no help from nero .

  4. what do you actually want to do ?
have an avi file on a dvd disc or make the abi file into a dvd movie if the choice is the second do you have the mpeg-dvd plug in from nero as you will need this to make a dvd movie.
if on the other hand you just want a avi file on a dvd then dont use nerovision just use nero express.
any probs let me know and if i can help i will

  5. Hi,

I would like to convert the .avi movie file to make a quality DVD. I think I have to download the Plug-In from Nero!

What I cannot understand is why does it take 5-10 hrs to encode in NeroVision prior to burning? Should I be using a different encoding process prior to burning to help speed up the total process?

    Thanks,

    Bob

  6. Hi
well nero is slow at encoding but it does a good job just as long as you remember to burn to hard drive and not dvd first as there is a problem that nero say they are working on.
btw the plug in is $24 from nero
you can use other programs to encode the avi to mpg but i found nero the easiest to work with i.e authouring ect
if you need any help u can email me at zantak@easynews.com
