  1. Hi everyone,
I have been wondering if this were possible for a long time, but havent tried myself yet. Has anybody tried the following?

1.I would like to try and have an SVCD with an mp3 soundtrack. Can I use TMpgenc to convert the video and use virtualdub to convert the audio and then multiplex the two together? My DVD player supposrts mp3s but will it ork whilst multiplexed with an svcd video?

    2. Ok, this one I doubt would work but its worth a shot, Divx can come with ac3 audio. Is there a way to create SVCDs with a digital soundtrack?

    Thanks
    Allan

1.) I doubt any dvd player would be able to play it. You really can't mix and match things in formats that already have fairly shady support. When a dvd player loads up a disk it looks at it and determines which of its software routines it needs to run. So when it boots up a svcd it is not going to use its mp3 software, and it really wouldn't be that simple anyway.

    2) Well regular SVCD's already do have a digital soundtrack but I know what you meant. It is possible to multiplex an ac3 track with an mpeg2 file quite easily. Either TMPGenc or bbmpeg will work but again, almost no dvd player will play it for the same reason as above.
