Hi,
Tried to burn mini-DVD's with SpruceUp but my player (Cyber Home) didn't recognize the format. Today I tried to burn a SVCD with Nero 5.5. I also added a MPEG-2 video with DVD-quality.
It worked out for me!! My DVD player thinks its playing a SVCD but I'm watching it with DVD-Quality.
I've made both PAL-MPEGs (DVCD & DVD) with Studio DV Plus.
Hope you can use this info, please let me know...

First, I think you did something wrong in SpruceUP or you dont have one of the 2% of DVD players that actually play miniDVDs..because I do have a player that does, & SpruceUP works fine...are you getting true DD 5.1 sound?? thats the key test..because if you are burning a "true" SVCD & playing that...you are NOT getting DVD quality video, NOR DD 5.1 surround...the only way that happens is if you burned that SVCD at about 7-8mbit/s or higher for video, but still cant DD 5.1 on a SVCD....and then your movies will end up needed ing 10+ disks for each movie

chances are its a xsvcd, Iburn them all the time cause my player will olay anything but mini dvds 720x480 @ 8000kb/s

yeah, you will have DVD quality for video, I agree, but not audio...and also enjoy having 10 CDR(W)s for each movie, Im assuming he is not burning DVD-Rs since he didnt mention it..
