  1. Hey guys, I have ripped a couple of movies successfully before, but the current one is giving me problems when I get to the TMPG program. It froze once at 34% and another time at 18%. I mean the whole damn computer was totally locked. I've got a HP P3 600 megahertz with tons of ram and HD space. I also tried DVDx and it got about 1/2 done and crashed. That may have been my fault for screwing w/ other programs while DVDx was doing it's thing. But the quality of the partial DVDx sucks, so if either you have some help for TMPGEnc freezing problem or know how to juice up DVDx's quality plz let me know. Apreciate it.

  3. I have had similar problems with DVDx....until last night I turned off all of the power saver features. It turned out that something about the powersaving features was crashing DVDx. As to your TMPGenc problems;...I have NEVER had any problem with this program at all. I would agree with the suggestion that you defragment your drive and then, if that doesn't work, I suggest that you delete your version of TMPGenc and get a new version (it could be your version got corrupted somehow). If neither of those works you should make sure that your computer is virus free. My TMPG once stopped working becuase I had a nasty virus...TMPG was how I found out. If none of these things work, please write the forum again and we'll see what we can do.

  5. Hummm, HP, dats half the problem! ROTFL!

Seriously, FDISK, install W98SE from scratch and your problems will be fixed! Im not poking fun, Im *serious*! Its a major hassle, but after a while the entire OS gets vapor locked and its a must-do, I do mine every 6 months else I have problems. No, Im not an idiot, Im an IT developer and programmer, and doing such work on a PC will whack an OS (Win) in short order.
