  1. Ok I have got a problem with my Windows Media Player!! Really ANNOYING me too!

It just doesn't play .AVI files with divx. It will play all other files, .mp3, .mpeg, .wmv etc etc. Seems like a divx pronlem I have.

Has any of you guys experienced this or know a way around it?

I can watch the clips that don't work in Windows Media Player in the DivX player, but it's much easier to just use the Windows player!!

    Please, any ideas?!??!! Please!

Here is a pic of how it looks when trying to play an AVI, it stays like this for about 10-15secs, then plays the audi (if the clip has it)

Yet, if I right click on the file and preview I can view the clip!

    See example pic here -

Hope that explains properly my problem! I really hope someone can help, there seems to be some really clever people here.

Oh by way I never had this problem before, everything was fine a week ago. My PC spec is -

    Win Me
    512ram
    GeForce 2 Mx 64mb
    40gb hd
    1.3 athlon

I have tried new divx5 codecs from divx.com, i have reinstalled windows media player 7 too. But no luck

    Thanks

I assume you have divX installed (if not, obviously do that www.divx.com)

Windows Media Player 9 (just released) plays just about everything now.
Download that as well (open media player - click help - check for updates)

  3. It's ok, I fixed it with reinstall of Windows. Thanks for the reply.

I am going to wait a bit until I go for WMP9 as I know a few people who've had problems!!
