I'm not sure if this is exactly the list you're speaking of but I know that imdb.com has that info. If you go to a movie that's out on DVD that you know for a fact is single layer, click DVD details on the left, then find the "Disc Details" and click either DS-SL or SS-SL you can get a list there from there.

  3. I saw a list of all the single layer discs somewhere. All the discs that could be copied 1:1 to a dvdr. Not sure where I saw it though. Like someone went through all the dvds and picked out all the ones that were under 4.7.
Maybe we should have that here... every dvd you know that is under 4.7 post it and we could make it sticky or something.

  6. I think the list you were looking for is called "List of DVD's that are under 4.7GB" and can be found here.

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=63214&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&hi...20layer%20list

On my last post on that thread I suggest that everyone either go according to this list

    http://www.geocities.com/singlelayerdvd/allsinglelayerdvds.txt

...or search a dvd at these places

    http://www.imdb.com/Sections/DVDs/
    http://www.dvdempire.com/

I've found mistakes on all these sites and since that post I found www.digitallyobsessed.com which hasn't been wrong yet. Hope this helps.

  7. Do these lists include dual layer DVDs where the MOVIE PART ONLY is less than 4.38 gig, or only single layer DVDs?

A more general question - please can someone tell me how long a film usually has to be to fit the 4.38 limit (I'm not bothered about extras!)

    Thanks,

    Mark.
