    Hi:

What kind of system are you using? I've switched from a VIA Chipset K6-2 500 to a PIII 450 using a WinTV PVR with lousy results as far as dropping frames and sync are concerned. I can't figure this stupid thing out. I've tried everything, even changed to a PCI audio card. I don't know what's causing my buffer underun erros in the encoded video stream, as reported by tmpeg, after muxing it to be able to get the right file size in NERO. Also NERO wont take it until after I mux it. I've tried different video sources. Any ideas? When my parallel port DAZZLE worked (it's interface took a break) I was making great videos. These new fangled TV cards are pretty hyped as far as I'm concerned..., unles you spend like the pros.

    Regards, flyboy

"What kind of system are you using?"
    A P3 750
    Intel®440BX chipset Abit BE6
    512MB RAM
    Soundblaster Live
    Win2K - Service Pack 2

And havent have any problems capture problems...so far.

"Also NERO wont take it until after I mux it."
Thats so for all, you have to mux it with right VCD or SVCD settings.

flyboy the WinTV-PVR dosen't have the Multiplex features buildin.
The Visiontech Kfir MPEG chip is ture MPEG1,2 Stream encoder.

A small review of Hauppauge MPEG Editor vs Womble Multimedia Mpeg2vcr.
Just give you idea of the time it took 35+min to do this 1+GB file with Hauppauge MPEG Editor no cuts where Womble Multimedia Mpeg2vcr took less 5min to do with no cuts.
But I have say it is by far fast of then any other MPEG1,2 Editor I have ever seen unlike Adobe Premiere 6.0, Ulead VideoStudio 5.0, Ulead MediaStudio Pro 6.0, Mediaware M2-edit Pro 4.0, Sonic Foundry VideoFactory 1.0, Sonic Foundry Vegas Video 2.0 all other want re-render the entire movie ekkk.
And yes the Hauppauge MPEG Editor dose the Multiplex on the fly so all have to do drag and drop in to Nero 5 VCD template.

If you are having problem with the Hauppauge MPEG Editor being out of sync in audio after edit it I think found the problem more on that later still doing testing.

Note there is major problem with MPEG2 one thing you should due is run "Hauppauge PVR PCI Utility" before recording an video this help in getting the best quality out of it even I keep forget to this, I guest Hauppauge hasn't build this in to WinTV2000 to do on the fly.

Nice have you board Baldrick, Baldrick as for the PVR problem it real.
    1) Algorithm artifacts in fast sceans in the recording above MPEG1 VCD.
    2) Small blockless in fast sceans MPEG1 and MPEG2 under cartoon and reg movie or TV show, but dose help if you run the Hauppauge PVR PCI Utility and reset & update the hardware before recording any thing.
    3) Noise around objects in MPEG1 and MPEG2 under cartoon and reg movie or TV show.
    4) 480x480 SVCD or 640x480 not in the rigth frame size a nice big black bar on rigth (NTSC).
