  1. Hi All:

    My first post!

I recently purchased a Sony TRV120 camcorder from Ebay. It was between that and an ADVC-100. I want to transfer my VHS to DV and ultimately to VCD. The piece of the puzzle that remains is the firewire card. There are lots out there in quite a range of prices.

I just bought a Belkin firewire cable (I thought it was card AND cable) thru newegg, so all I still need is a firewire card.

    Anybody have any suggestions on
    1. which firewire card
    2. best place to get it
    3. and why??? (I want to learn!)

    Thanks,
    Larry

    Than

  2. realy there is no diffrence between the CArds. The Reason for diffrent Price is the Software that is Bundled With the Cards. If you realy just want the card go to compusa and get the Compusa brand which sell's for arount 15-20 bucks.

Actually it's $32.96 but it includes Ulead VideoStudio 5 DV and other bundled software.

  4. I just got two for $18/each at newegg. Also have the $25 one at newegg.
I bought a external enclosure firewire at compusa $69.99 and it would freeze up. I thought..hmmm maybe piece of crap firewire card or something with windows 2000. I bought the ads pyro for $99 at circuit city and it works as it's supposed to. Anyway I'm talking them both back as soon as my $47.99 ME-720UF external firewire enclosure comes from compgeeks.com.
