  1. i managed to backup my tv shows from vcd to dvd-r but i wonder 2 things

    - when playing the vob in powerdvd the vcd mpg1 shows in full dvd resolution (720x480) and looks blooky. i can rescale the window to vcd size and it looks okay. i wonder how it will look on tv? do i need to edit the ifo with ifoedit to change the resolution back to vcd?

    - when upsampling the audio to 48khz, i strangely sometimes have a difference in audio lenght from the original (shorter) and therefore resulting in audio out of sync in the final vob. anyone know why the loss in audio lenght occurs?

    i use dvdmaestro to author.

    any help appreciated.

Use ssrc to upsample the audio, you can use it with tmpgenc.

  4. solved the audio thingy somehow. shoulda known that sonic's softencode wasnt capable of proper upsampling to 48khz. once you feed it with an 48khz wav done by winamp, it encodes it to ac3 properly. so does the ac3 encoder from scenarist btw.
since its a ntsc project i need to have at least one ac3 track anyway so i figured i could as well do all in ac3.
