When I've Ripped a DVD ( DVD2SVCD with CCE 2.5 ) it shows perfectly on my Computer with PowerDVD, but playing it on my JVC XV-S300 or my Daewoo 8000f it goes totaly bezerk.
The image on my tv goes glitchy and blockery and Freezes all the time.
I've used several cd brands and burning speeds but that doesn't solve anything.
The bitrate ( movie and sound ) is at 2564 total.. What is the problem here....

  2. Have you gotten any other discs to play properly on those players before?

Yes on my Daewoo 8000f, I've just bought the JVC. ( the old encoded svcd movies also work on the JVC )

The Weird thing is that in the beginning i didn't realise that video + audio was total bitrate so I maxed the video bitrate to 2756 and than the audio had to come over it at 224 so a whopping 2980 svcd was the result and without any playback problems.
I did probebly about 15+ conversions this way. But all of a sudden my newly ripped/encoded movies at those settings didn't play correct anymore, so I reinstalled Win2k learned about the bitrate values and the problem still occured.

The 8000f was badly produced by default as told by the shop assistent at Mediamarkt here in holland, so I replaced it with the JVC XV-S300bk, as I told earlier older ripped/encoded stuff works on the JVC but the ones I do now won't play properly ( glitchy, freezing , stuttering )

I used 90 minute cds, burned them at 32x on verbatim and platinum cdrs all worked fine then.
Thought that is was my Nero but with VCDeasy the same problem still comes up.

    Is it an Overburn issue?..

    TIA

  4. Sounds like you might have a batch of bad media?

Try burning at a lower speed to see if that makes any difference.

I have the same jvc player and if I take the bit rate over 2400 or burn to fast ie above x4 the picture freezes and stutters .Apart from this problem the player plays everything thown at it.

Thx for all the tips you guys.

I took Burnproof's advice on the bitrate issue, and ripped/encoded a few different scenes from Resevoir Dogs and the outcome was perfect using DVD2SVCD.

    Anti Noise Filter: 3
    Passes: 4
    Image Quality: 22
    VAF file creation: On
    Video Encoding Mode: Multipass VBR
    Min. bitrate: 0
    Max. bitrate: 2400
    Avg. Bitrate: 2400

I use CCE 2.5 for encoding, and I use both max and average at 2400 total, but minimal on 0. I get a warning that it has to be 120 or larger and dropping these setting below that might fail the program. anyone experienced that?
The encoded movie however looks fine on the JVC, besides some fast moving objects with heatwave effect, but the overal quality is perfect.

I'm doing the whole movie tonight and hopefully looks fine tomorow.

    Thx Again
