I'm currently using an ASUS E616 16x DVDROM drive and Power DVD as the software player.
For a couple of DVDs that I own; the software is not able to play it back giving the error above. I wonder if any other users face the same problem and if they have managed to solve it.
I've tried playing the discs in other drives with mixed results; some will and some wont.
Can you guys help me out?

I have a similar problem with Power DVD and SVCD's. DVD's play fine. No ideas why though...
You could try a different price of software to establish whether it is your drive or PowerDVD causing the problem. Go to download.com and pick yp a freeware DVD player. -
As a matter of fact I tried WinDVD and MSIDVD both with disappointing results. I tried using another system using different drives; some worked; some didn't. Could it be a motherboard/hardware issue or an OS issue?
