I have a movie file that is in .avi format and I want to put it onto a cd-r in .vcd format so I can watch it on my dvd player. I have found a way to do this but it requires me to convert it into a .mpg format which almost doubles the size and it won't fit on 1 disc which is what I want. Ok heres my question- is there anyway to make the .avi into .vcd without enlarging the file?

there´s a way to convert to mpeg and fit in just one disc. look in the "how to" section of the forum.

You can reduce your bitrate, and use some templates and such... But as you do this, it will start to loose quality... For some people, VCD isn't even considered watchable, for some others, it is DVD-like (the same one, that is). Also, some players don't like non-standard VCD's... Anyways. Good luck.

Mental,
here is something I would like to point out to you
music and vcds are calculated in minutes not file size so you can fit more than 700mb's on a disc. So you only use the minutes when figuring this out . 80 minutes per disc.
Please look to your left and follow the guides under convert and before you go making a one disc vcd pleasae try making a 2 disc vcd its easier.
Hope this helps
