  1. I have my ORIGINAL SIMS VACATATION CD and wanted to do a backup copy of the CD (The game requires you to have the CD in the drive to start off and l do not want "wear/tear" to damage it)

I have burned successfully with Nero and CD Clone, and was able to test install it.

However, when l play it, it says the "correct CD is not installed" Looks like some sort of security.

    Any help? Thanks in advance

    Hello,

Yes it's a security measure. Basically my understanding is it's similar to how sony makes their playstation games. The cd on bad spots on it and when you make a copy of it your burning software corrects these bad spots and the executable file on your computer looks for those spots

The good news is that there are workarounds for this. I will let you be creative in finding them but it shouldn't be hard to find with programs such as winmx, dc connect, etc.

you will probalby have to download a whole copy of the cd which will have the executable crack, patch with it.

Some may think it's warez, illegal, etc but as long as you own a legit copy you are allowed to make a copy of it for yourself, for backup or to use and keep the orginal good(I do this also with everyhting I buy anymore).

    HOpe this helps

download a whole copy of the cd
What are you talking about. Why don't you just tell him to use CloneCD and make him download the whole thing over again.

Use CloneCD and then burn to CD-R.
