After I reinstalled windows ( clean install) i'm not able to view certain mpgs anymore. When I play them using xing, wmp, or power dvd, the video comes up scrambled or the player just crashes. Nothing is wrong with the mpgs because I use to be able to play them. I guess I'm missing some codecs and/or drivers, can anyone help?

They are "probably" MPEG-2 videos, which Windows does not, by default, contain the drivers for. You need to install whatever software you had before, that you used to watch DVD's.
