Whenever I convert to mpeg2 with Tmpgenc plus and try to play the file in Windows Media Player, the aspect ratio is all messed up. The playback looks like a square with the sides of the movie scaled down. I have the Nimo Codec Pack installed with the free mpeg2 codec. I read somewhere that it was just the media player and that if I played it with Power Dvd it would be fine. It looks like that is the case however I want to be sure before I burn a SVCD. Also, I have played with the aspect ratio tabs when encoding to mpeg2 in Tmpgenc but nothing seems to change the playback in Media player. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
BTW I tried the Elecard mpeg2 codec but it didn't solve the problem.

one of my friends computers with that codec pack did that same exact thing, never did it on mine though...we never figured out what caused that to happen for his though
