Other than being a total rippoff off existing programs made by other people (that anyone can get for free) and packaged for DVD-Squeeze's profit(Weird!!),
can it really copy a DVD movie onto only one CD as it advertises:

    http://www.dvdsqueeze.com/?hop=woodsong.dvdsqueeze

    ???????

has anybody used it and know?

    Ghoster,

    Have you really used it?

Can it really copy a whole DVD movie onto one CD?

is the clarity very good? There must be an incredable drop in bitrate, right?

I've heard there are other similar programs, but does THIS specific program really work as it says?

  4. this looks like all the retail dvd copy software out there...this is prolly just includes all the freeware proggies with perhaps their own frontend...maybe they stole that one too...

as for 1 CD thing....."no loss in quality" is a total lie. that sample image of big daddy they have on their website is too small. i'm sure if it was changed to full screen, it'll look much worse. even so, that sample image looks too good to come from 1-CD rip.....

well then, has anyone used one that works for sure?

(I notice that Divx says it copies a DVD to CD, but only plays back on your computer)

Is there one, or anyway to make one that plays on a DVD player? (hopefully on only one CD?)

  6. errr...if u only want movies on 1 CD, then u better go ahead and buy the actual DVD unless you're willing to deal with a huge loss in quality...

divx will give you the best quality:filesize ratio, but yes..it can only be played on the computer...

try SVCD if u want it to play on your standalone dvd player, but check the dvd compatibility section of this website to make sure yours does play SVCDs....but don't expect to fit movies on 1 SVCD disc...settle for at least 2...maybe even 3, 4....to get near dvd quality...

well, I succumed to the slick advertisement and bought DVD Squeeze.

But I'm having real problems with it.

At the end of processing the DVD, I see no instructions on how to actually burn it.

After letting it run for 7hrs and getting a message saying it was complete, I'm left with a 500Mb AVI file a 300Mb audio file and a 6Gig VOB file.

There are NO instructions on how or what file to burn to disk. And how can a 6Gig file fit on one disk (as I chose in the settings). And the AVI/audio files don't look right either to fit on a CD.

Does Anybody know what I'm supposed to do to burn these 3 files onto a VCD as they advertise it will do? They both are too big also.

(the company is yet unresponsive to answering my questions for help or instruction)

the 5 gig file is probably a temp file the program used.

the avi file is probably the movie but that is not vcd format. it sounds more like divx.

which means converting divx to vcd.

by the way that software looks exactly like the free dvd to divx software called EasyDivx.

I'm finding out that you are right. It **IS** EasyDivX (and a few other also free programs) that they ripped off and packaged together to charge money for.

Very weird! Isn't there a law against selling something that the people who actually created it are giving away to the public for free?
(apparently software pirates are going commercial now with other people's programs) And this "company" that is selling it has the nerve to say they Copyrighted the software. (they claim it is copyrighted, but don't bother to say that it is by somebody else)!!!!!

I see why the "company" will not answer back when I email them for help and missing instuctions---THEY didn't write the programs, so they can't answer questions about how it works, or doesn't---they only can take money from unknowledgable customers who never realized they didn't make it and it was free from the creators for nothing.

    Incredable.

I'm wondering why it created 500Mb video file and 300Mg audio file when I told it I wanted to fit it on one 700Mg CD. What must the bitrate be---about 350bps? TEMPgenc shows that even at that, it far exceeds what can be put onto a VCD

I guess I'm have to mux and recode the little 400Mb avi files into Mpeg with TEMPgenc to have Nero recognize and let me burn.

    WHAT a RIPP OFF!!!!

Finally after 5 attempts, I was able to copy a DVD to CD.

The resolution is SO blocky and the colors are so "splotchy"(like the old paint-by-numbers paint kits), that it was totally unwatchable.

I also couldn't take watching more than a few minutes of the "movie" CD, because the audio was at least 30 seconds behind the video.

    Terrible!

and forget customer support...they Still haven't answered my email requests for help.

just to make sure that it didn't work, I made 2 more DVD trasferes to CD disks.

And the answer is an unqualified....NO, I't does NOT work.

Although the tranfere takes place, the movies is So SO Bad, it almost hurts to watch it. And the sound is 30 seconds behind the video.

    Don't buy it!!!!
(I noticed they aren't giving any refunds to unsatisied customers)

I'm going to contact the FBI's Internet Fraud Unit about this sham!

  13. If you paid by credit card, you should be able to get your money back by filing a claim with the CC company.

These guys that are selling this software will soon be out of business, but will be back to create another company selling the same crap with a different name.
