  1. Intro / problem:
I am having problems with encoding Ice Age. (More people have this problem).
When i playback the vob files from my harddrive, everything is ok, first there is a 20th century fox intro and then there is the movie. When i encode the thing with DVD2SVCD there is a second intro without sound. It seems to be inserted into the video stream because the sound of the movie continues while this second intro plays. The rest of the movie has the audio out of sync due to this intro. With ifoedit i noticed that the second intro is indeed right after the first one, but the DVDplayer seems to skip it, while DVD2SVCD does not skip it, and encodes it into the mpg stream.

    My question:
I want to erase the first chapter from the vob file, so that i will encode only the movie, not the intro's. How can i do this? I can't find such an option in ifoedit or vobedit.
Do i need to edit the vob or just the ifo?
Or is there an option to encode some selected chapters using DVD2SVCD?

By the way, DVD2SVCD is a great program!

    Thanx!!

  2. If you open up the VTS file for the main movie with IFOedit

And look for what VOBID's the movie use.

    PGC_1 (uses VOB-IDs: x,x,x)

Some times it is just 1-3, sometimes it is from 2-18 etc

Click vob extras to strip and now only select the vobid's you know
    belongs to the main moive.

  3. I think you are talking about the vob files themselves? Because i know which ones i need. But i want to erase a chapter from the movie that is within the first vob file.

What happens in AsusDVD is that the first intro has no sound, and that the sound starts playing at the second intro. Then the movie starts and the sound is ok!

I don't understand why Asus DVD plays the VOB files correctly, and that DVD2SVCD encodes it wrong... All other DVD's i encoded were ok.

  4. Why don't you rip them as chapters ( both smartripper and DVDdecrypter can )? Then exclude those trouble chapter in your encoding.

    No, not really.

    I'm talking about VOB-ID's,

A movie can have one ID for the whole movie or 15 etc

IFOEDIT lets you strip out the unwanted ones.
