  1. Okay, I know that big files take awhile to convert but GOOD GRIEF CHARLIE BROWN! This can't be right! I have a divx avi file and I want to make it into a vcd that I can watch on my dvd player. When I run it in tmpgenc it tells me that it's going to take 123 hours to convert! That's like 5 1/2 days! I want to fit the whole thing on one 80min vcd, but there has to be something wrong that it says it's going to take 123hours. Can someone tell me what settings I should be using to do this w/out it taking that long. 2days is acceptable but not 5!!! Here are all the stats on the file I can think of that you might need!

    Media Length: 110min 59.96sec.
Audio Format: MPEG Layer-3,127 kBit/s, 44,100 Hz, Stereo
    Video Format: 560 x 336, 24 Bits, 166477 Frames, 25.000 Frames/Sec, 99 KB/Sec, DIVXMPG4 V3
    Size: 650MB (681,744,384bytes) 681,771,008bytes used

    Thanks,
    Annessa

  3. What are the specs on your computer?

If you start an encode in TMPGenc, let it go for an hour, you will see the time decreases.

it wont actually take 123 hours.

  4. You can see my computer info under my profile. I did wait 2 1/2 hours and it started w/ 127hours and dropped off to 123. I still don't know what I did. Ususally the files only take 3 to 10 hours depending on how big the file is but not 123.

You probably had the filters turned on in tmpg. The noise reduction and ghost filter take ages to process. It was going to take 62 1/2 hours to encode a 90 minute movie on my 700mhz machine. I decided it was good enough the way it was.
