  1. sorry real n00b to video. i have some 30 min. tv shows that are encoded in MPG, they are about 230mb for each 30 min. show. i would like to know if there is a way to convert this MPG down so it has a smaller file size without loosing too much quality(not great right now, but in but care). the file is MPEG-1 352x240 23.976fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 192kbps. is there a way to make is smaller so that i could bur more the 3 shows to a cd-r, cd-rw. btw i dont care about them playing in my dvd player, just the mpg files no my computer

  2. If you just want to view it on your comp, why not just use divx? You get more from your bitrate.
