    avi conversion to mpg1
    im having probs converting an avi to mpg1, i have tried virtualdub and tmpgenc but each time the audio is out of sync
    Is there any other method or upto date guide i can use
    or can somebody please help me and suggest what im doing wrong
    in virtual i get an improper vbr message coming up i still extract the audio but when i put them back together in tmpgenc it goes out of sync on the audio

    please bear with me i am a neebie

  2. ok, i think you can fix it with VDUB. In your source AVI, there are prolly some bad frames, you need to get them out(cuz they take care of sync probs).

    VIDEO ->SCAN VIDEO STREAM FOR ERRORS

    then you go on exactly as you used to do it last time.
    When you save the AVI, all the bad frames aren't saved and you'll get a perfect audio-video sync film...

    Open the file in goldwave (www.goldwave.com). It a shareware audio editor that can open avi files. Save out the audio as an uncompressed wav just like you would do in vdub. Then encode with that. It usually fixes these kind of problems for me.
