Hey. When trying to backup dvds, I believe that I am doing the steps right. However when I go to play in the ifoedit program directly before burning, the video is choppy. Is their a problem with viewing in ifoedit program, or am I doing something wrong? Also, what is the simple way to split on two dvd-rs to keep from having to re-encode? This would cut down steps, and these steps might be my problem. I currently use ifoedit, smartripper, and nero. Any suggestions would be great.

I think this is a common problem. It happens to me to.
I'm testing out the VOB files with s DVD player like PowerDVD to see if all is ok.
When it's ok in PowerDVD i burn it at it is OK on my standalone.
