  1. A freind of mine has a 1.7 Intel chip and said it take only 2 and a half hour to encode a two hour movie. I have heard that AMD is faster then Intel but I have heard that Intel is better for making SVCD and VCD and AMD is cheepped. Does any one know how fast a AMD chip will take to encode a two hour movie with a AMD 1.4? Thank's!!!!

  2. get the AMD, Intel is getting sloppy now with their chips...just because the Intel has a higher clock cycle doesnt mean that it can process more info faster than the AMD even though its about 300mhz less...the AMD chip is more efficient at processing, with less megahertz and (most imporantly) a cheaper price. dont forget, you can also overclock that AMD too!

I beg to differ, tmpge is otmized for the sse2 instruction set whis te p4 has and will dramitacly decrease time. If you plan on sticking with tmpgenc then i would go p4 all the way, but if you plan on trying differnt things I would go with the 1.2 athlon mp.

the p4 also gives u more speed if u choise to go with real time encoding.

  5. I have both the p4 1.4g and AMD thunderbird 1.4g 266FSB. The P4 outperforms the thunderbird when it comes to video processing.
