  3. Can you tell us a bit more about that fantastic deal you got at Staples?
Did you use any coupons/rebates on top of that?

PS - Can't see the 4x on their website and where's that internet deal for $205, according to Pricewatch the cheapest is $255 for the Pioneer, can't see the Cendyne ?

  7. i am considering on buting the cendyne dvd -r/-rw and the model nbr is dvr-104, but do have a coupla questions... is it any good? and second i alrdy have a cd-burner in my computer, are there any drawbacks to switching out my current cd-burner which is faster then the cendyne cd-r burns will go so basically i am asking will i benefit by taking out my burner and replacing it w/ the cendyne dvd/cd burner by taking a hit in the speed dept. as well as reducing the amt of heat inside the computer case, cuz i really do not know how to install it otherwise along w/ the current burner and dvd-rom... thanks in advance for all your help

Just exchanged my a04 for an a05 and sure enought they put in a 1x RW in there...at least Pionner provide a 4x DVD-R and a 2x DVD-RW

Anyway I can't anything to burn properly with Nero so that's a moot point...

  9. I was the first one in my local Office Max and spotted these burners. I took the only box there and it was a display box! I had them check in back and they didn't have anything. That is false advertising on thier part.

get yourself a copy of tmpgenc - encode it as an mpeg-2 program file, VBR - 2 pass, 6500 avg, then use the dvd authoring program the drive came with to burn it.

  12. Hey...I went to the store Saturday of the sale and they said they were out and wouldn't give rain checks. I told them that was false advertising and I'd sick the BBB on them since the ad didn't specify "limited to stock on hand". They told me to keep the ad and bring it in when they got a new shipment and they'd honor the price. The shpment came in today and they rang it up for the sale price plus I got the rebate. It pays to whine!

  14. Ok..give me the good & bad on this drive..Officemax has the ad again for 169.00 on this Cendyne. Also got a 10-pack of DVD-Rs on sale for 19 bucks. They are Fuji film..any probs with these disks and that drive that anyone knows??

  15. My Cendyne drive seems to burn better to disks that have a deeper purple recording color. So far, all the DVD-RW media I have tried have worked ok. The only coaster I have made so far was from a cheap lite purple color DVD-R. I like and use the Ritek DVD-R's. If your Fuji disks are deep purple they will probably burn just fine.
