  1. Im trying to follow LeeBears guide on DivX -> SVCD and im at the bit where I need to rip the audio from the 2nd CD of a Divx Movie to an uncompressed wav file, then reencode it into the video so that there are no sync problems.

Trouble is, there still is sync problems after a certain point in the file, say about 25mins after it starts. before that its fine, no sync problems at all.

The DivX file has no sync problems either, but it does stutter at the point of the sync on the avi but then carries on and is fine right up to the end.

Ive scanned the divx file for errors and there are none detected.

Could anyone please shed any light on this?

    Thanks

  2. CD1 of the Divx file is fine too, even after I reencoded the uncompressed wav file back with the video, no sync problems at all.

Could this mean that the 2nd Divx file is corrupt?

    bilston,

    yes, and no.

But, I wuld say that the Keys would be the real issue here. I don't
know of any divX app that reads in any (sure would like one though) a
divX file and display it's specs, ie, KEYS used in a given clip.

I suspect that on disk one and two, that the keys are different, and if they
    are, you'll have audio de-sync'ing.

As an experiment, try and do the second one, but w/out combining it with
the first one. Just encode the second one by itself and see if you have any
    audio sync issues.

  4. Sorry for not explaining properly in my first post, but that is the problem, im getting sync issues just on the 2nd CD on its own.

The first 25mins of CD2 play fine, no sync issues at all, then the video pauses a little but the sound carries on, and so puts it all out of sync. It pauses on the DivX file, but no syncing problems occur.

    Thanks for the help

  5. I had this on a DiVX to MPG conversion too. Run the DiVX through AVIFixed, which is available here http://www.divx-digest.com/software/avifix.html, then extract the audio from the fixed file and it should work fine.

I tried to fix the problem using DiVX Fix too, but didn't have any luck.

  6. Thanks for that djbenz! That fixed the sync issues!

Trouble is, now I cant encode to MPG from the 2nd AVI file, CCE gives me an error when trying to encode it. If I use TMPGEnc I cant seem to be able to use ffwd or frwd on my dvd player, the movie just skips straight to the beginning again.

    Any ideas guys?
