  1. I want to make a VideoCD with TmpgEnc. I have tested 2 minutes divx, to see what is the
aprox. size of mpeg when I change it to VideoCD. But when I change the Bitrate in the
settings the size of the movie remains the same!!! If the movie with 1150 kbps sizes 20258 kB
then at 650 kbps it should be smaller!! But it remains the same (20258).

    Where is the problem?

    The settings I used:
    MPEG-1 Video,
    Size: 352x288
    25 fps
    Constant bitrate(CBR)
    1150 kbps and 650kbps
    40KB buffer size

    Please help!

  2. Start TmpGenc, cancel the wizard. Click load and select the appropriate VCD template from the TmpGenc templates directory. Now click load again and select unlock.mcf from the extras directory. Now click settings and set your bitrate on the video tab. On the system tab of the settings dialog, change the stream type to MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard). This should now produce a smaller file. AFAIK, if you dont change this, TmpGenc will encode with the lower bitrate but add padding to bring the overall data rate back to VCD standards!
