Ok..i posted this in the newbies forum but i'm also going to post it here ..sorry if thats wrong..

Ok..
Just converted my avi file with TMPGEnc and the mpeg played fine on my computer. I then burned a video cd and when i tried it on my dvd player it was all distorted and in a small fraction of the screen. Then, i tried running the dat file on my comp and ghot this message form windows media player..

A device attached to the system is not functioning :
This error happens if you use Microsoft Windows Media Services and Windows Media Player on the same computer and attempt to view a file in Windows Media Player that is streamed by the same server.

Windows Media Player must be installed on a different computer than Windows Media Services.

end quote.

I dont know if it was a problem with the mpeg conversion or the actual vcd process. It appeared to have worked ok.

Any ideas please?? I was using NTI CD-Maker 2000 and i only bought it for vcd'ness..it wa sthe only local thing i could find.

The cdmaker program does have a vcd feature and i'm using princo cds which my dvd player recognises. I dont want to use nero since i only bought this program 2 weeks ago and in the process of installing it it crashed my computer..so the whole thing has ended up costing me 300$ up. So you can see that i would like it to work..

Depressed..
