    i was wondering if it's posible to convert a divX (dvdrip) to a dvd movie again, i know this may sound stupid, why would you wanna do that i hear you say hehe, the menu's gone and it's only stereo sound. but i'd like to see downloaded movies on my tv, yes yes, i have a tvcard but it would be so much easier to put it in my dvd player

    divX is good as a delivery format, but when you try to convert back to mpeg, the quality is usually pretty bad. It has already been highly compressed.

    Try a test conversion of a short segment to mpeg and decide if it is acceptable to you.

    Well, it depends. DivX can be a bad source, just like it can be a good one. If you go for whatever you can get off the web (1 CD Rips) then most likely, it won't be so great. VCD's and SVCD's can be just as bad (some people like to put like 2 hours on a VCD...) Depends a lot on bitrate, resolutions and all... DivX is a codec, and it don't mean it's necessarily ridiculously highly compressed...
