Hi! Can anyone help me with the following problem? I want to burn a VCD, the source file is AVI-format. I use the latest version of Nero. I load the file in Nero and conversion begins, then the CD is succesfully created. When I load the CD in my external DVD-player the picture is fine , but there is NO SOUND! Grateful for any help!/Mikael

Never ever use Nero to encode a VCD MPEG. At the most, use it to burn a VCD image.
Take a look at some of the guides under CONVERT for a sample of methods/tools to use for converting an AVI into a VCD.
As for your specific problem, besides Nero, it's probably due to the encoding method of the audio in the AVI. Nero probably can't handle it, so, happily spits out an MPEG without audio. Using the right tools lets you discover and correct this kind of anomalies much earlier in the VCD creation process.

  3. Try TMPGENC to convert your AVI to VCD format (MPEG1). Then use Nero to burn that file.

  5. I have same prob as first post. I've been using tmpgenc 2.57 perfectly for weeks then all of a sudden no sound on mpeg. I upgraded to 2.59 but with same result. the only thing i've added since is a flash player, but thats never given grief before.

Also been lookin for patches just in case someone got to it first but no joy.
