    Hi all, need help please

    Trying to copy a vcd to Vhs tape. It records, but plays back in black and white. Why ? I have a Sony DVD NS300 and Sony SVL E820 vhs recorder.
    I have connected em on L3 , which is my second scart connect on the video.

    Anyone got any ideas ?

    You are probrably playing an NTSC VCD and recording with a PAL VCR. or vice versa. Here in the UK most VCR's are capable of playing both PAL and NTSC, but they can only record properly from a PAL source.

    Either reencode the VCD to the format that your VCR is capable of recording from (this will unfortunately result in quality degredation) Or but a VCR capable of recording from the format that your VCD is in (unfortunately this will cost you money).

    Is there a free easy solution that wont effect the quality of the VCD ? No.
