Sony DRU500A and Intenso DVD+R and simulation mode

Hi,

I just tried to backup some data using intenso DVD+R media using nero 5.5.9.16. This failed with the following error:

01:13:08 #20 CDR -1066 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1441
Invalid field in command

01:13:08 #21 TRANSFER -24 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1441
Could not perform end of Disc-At-Once



Does anyone know if it's the media or something else?

Anyway, I thought it might have been because I backed up so much data it might have been cutting it a little close to it's capacity. So again I tried again but with less data this time...however in order not to waste anymore disks I tried using Nero's Simulation mode.

Not only did it fail in the same way as above but it didn't do a simulation either...it wrote to the disk so this DVD+R is also wasted. So is the simulation mode not working in this version of nero? or maybe it's the media again?

Well I know the 5.5.9.16 still had issues with the DRU500a and DVD+r media. Have you considered trying the 5.5.9.17.

Well I tried upgrading to the latest nero and still the same problem so at this moment I think you can take it as read that the Intenso DVD+R media doesn't work.

Interestingly, version 5.5.9.17 of nero has the Simulation option disabled...so does that mean the this drive is not capable of simulation?

Anyway...too bad about the media.
