does TmpgEnc freezes while encoding? this is a solution!

hi!! I found a way for making TmpgEnc encode till the end without crash.

first, open the wizard at the begining.

when the wizard ask for the file, press browse in video file and the files window will open. right click on the file you want to convert (XXX)and select "copy". after this, right click on the white zone of the file window and select "paste". it will appear a new file called "copy of XXXX"
then, open xxx as your video source and "copy of xxx" as your sound source. and continue the process as ussual.

this always has worked with me.

Personally I haven't experienced a problem with TMPEG freezing during encoding, but there is something else odd that it seems to always do now..
It will go through the entire encoding process with no problem all the way to 100% and then it just will not let go of it! - I always have to press alt, control, delete to shut it down from the windows task manager.
Sometimes it will show remaining time 01 or 02, or may even show 00, but it wont let go.
It hasnt really been a problem I don't guess because the final encode file is fine.. but I just think its odd and am curious to know if it happens to anyone else.
I am using TMPEG version 2.58 on Windows XP Proffesional on an IBM 1.6gz pc

Be patient. It will eventually stop on its own.

TMPGE always freezes when I doing a MPEG2 to MPEG2 re-encode.

I normally do my TV captures at the best quality and let TMPGE re-encode to make the MP2 smaller so they fit on a disc or 2.
Doing the capture as a SVCD file doesn't seem to be as good

No matter how small my source is always locks up.
There are no problems if I doing a DVD2AVI encode with TMPGE.
