Convert SVCD to VCD

Hey everybody

Sorry my english is not very well because I´m german.

I´d like to convert an SVCD into an VCD

MPEG2 into MPEG1

What for a program do i need?

My DVD Player can only play VCD an non SVCD

HELP !!!

I use TMPGenc to re-encode a SVCD to VCD. Here is how to do it:

1. Go to File--> Mpeg Tools
2. Choose the Simple De-Multiplex Tab
3. For the Input file, you put the SVCD file you want to convert.
4. Hit Run.

It will create a .m1v file - Thats the Video Part
and it will create a .mp2 file - Thats The Audio

After thats done. Close that out and go back to the main part of TMPGenc.

1. In the main window of TMPGenc, load the .m1v file into the Video part
2. then load the mp2 file into the audio part

You may have to choose to see "all files" when browsing for the files.

Then load your VCD template, give it the vcd file a name, and hit Start.

then you have a converted svcd to vcd.

Another option that may work depending on your DVD player is the 'VCD header trick'. This puts a VCD header onto a SVCD mpeg file and fools your player into thinking it is playing a standard VCD. It doesn't work on all players but may be worth a try. Search the forums for details on how to do this.
