  1. if its interlaced u encode with interlaced,, etc ect

    what i want to know is, how do i find out if a avi file or a mpg file iver downlaoeded is interlaced or not?

    Huh? I'm still a relative newbie, but I'm pretty sure it's impossible to identify interlacing with the naked eye.

    check the first image. If you play a mpeg2 with powerdvd or windvd it will automatically deinterlace so you won't se any interlace lines, play/preview with dvd2avi instead. An avi can you check with virtualdub.

    Those lines your seeing is from the hair all over your fuzzy head chewwy, not interlacing.
